OPEN A US BANK ACCOUNT
Most monies paid to you for your Internet business are drawn on U.S. Bank checks.
Some of the financial institutions that offer payment gateways to merchants who own websites, do not offer to wire earned money to a bank account especially if you are not in the U.S. Rather, your checks are sent to you via mail and you would have to go to any of the Nigerian banks to cash it. To cash your check could take several weeks to a month and the charges are exorbitant.
But if you have a U.S. Bank account, you can send your checks from your Internet business directly to your own U.S. Bank account and once your account is credited you can then wire the money straight into your domiciliary account. This could take as little as 3-5 days to reflect in your bank domiciliary account in Nigeria and the charges are minimal. To open a domiciliary account these days is quite easy. Just go to any of the New generation banks to inquire.
Also, there are some sites that do not permit Nigeria and some other countries to even sign up with them to do business and collect checks e.g. www.Clickbank.com , but with a U.S. bank account which has a U.S. address you can ask that your checks be sent directly to your bank, to be credited into your bank account.
Also if you want to have a Paypal account you would need to verify that account. To do this you would need a bank account in Paypal service country. To verify your Paypal account enables people to trust you and do business with you especially on eBay. A verified PayPal account also enables you to withdraw money from your bank account into your Paypal account to shop on the Internet and withdraw monies from your Paypal account to your Bank account. You can use a U.S. bank account to achieve this, from where you can transfer such funds to your domiciliary bank account here in Nigeria.
